NATO Calls On Russia To Cease Military Action On Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin has been urged to immediately halt its military activity in Ukraine by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.
On Thursday, he made the announcement at a news meeting in Brussels, Belgium.
“We call on Russia to immediately cease its military action, withdraw its forces from Ukraine and choose diplomacy,” he said.
The invasion of Ukraine, he said, was premeditated, cold-blooded, and long-planned, and he accused Russia of having criminal intents for doing so.
He reiterated that:
“NATO fully supports Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and…right to self-defence.”
Stoltenberg condemned the strike as “unjustified” and “unprovoked,” and he cautioned Russia against attempting to rewrite history via force.
He said that Russia has damaged the peace of the continent with its ruthless act of war against Ukraine.
