Court convicts kidnap kingpin Evans Alongside two others

Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike nicknamed Evans, a notorious kidnapping ringleader, has been found guilty along with two others of conspiring and kidnapping a businessman, Donatus Duru, in Nigeria.

Uche Amadi and Okwuchukwu Nwachukwu are the other two inmates who have been sentenced to prison.

According to the Ikeja High Court in Lagos, presided over by Justice Hakeem Oshodi, the three defendants were found guilty of a two-count indictment on Friday.

According to Justice Oshodi, the prosecution was successful in establishing beyond a reasonable doubt that the charges against the three prisoners were true.

He, on the other hand, released and acquitted one Ogechi Uchechukw and two former soldiers, Chilaka Ifeanyi and Victor Aduba, on the grounds that the evidence against them was insufficient.

Justice Oshodi, on the other hand, has not yet sentenced the offenders since the proceedings are still underway.

A similar set of allegations is being brought against Evans in the same court by Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo and Justice Adedayo Akintoye.
