Nigerians are to be evacuated through its embassy in Poland
The Federal Government has said that preparations are being taken to evacuate people stuck in war-torn Ukraine via the Nigerian Embassy in Warsaw, Poland, and that these measures would continue indefinitely.
On Saturday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement titled, ‘Public Notice From The Nigerian Embassy in Poland,’ in which it explained the situation.
The statement read:
“In light of the happenings in Ukraine, please be advised that all Nigerians crossing over to Poland would have staff of the Nigerian Embassy waiting for them.
“The Federal Government is making necessary arrangements for the evacuation of those stranded in Ukraine through the Embassy in Warsaw, Poland. Please present this as your destination address with the Border Control: 02-953, Kosiarzy 22B, 02-956 Warsaw.”
Nigerian Embassy personnel and volunteers will be stationed at the Polish-Ukrainian border crossing sites and places indicated in the document below, according to the statement. Nigerian citizens will be picked up by buses and vans from the crossing points and locations listed below.
