Opposition Thickens As Jonathan Weighs Options To Run For Presidency

Plans to make the former president, Goodluck Jonathan run for the presidency in the 2023 elections under the ruling party, APC, is facing serious setback as Tinubu is hoping to represent his party in the polls in 2023.

Source told newsmen that the immediate past president, Goodluck Jonathan is presently weighing the options, whether to contest under the umbrella of the APC or not. The politician is still a member of the opposition party, PDP.

The PDP has left its presidential ticket open to all while APC’s ticket has been zoned to the South.

Politicians and party leaders who believe that zoning the presidential ticket to the South won’t be a threat to the PDP kicked against the move to invite Jonathan to run for presidency under the party.

They believe that the presidential ticket should be zoned to another area as PDP may zone theirs to the North. If this happens, then the PDP is likely going to have an upper hand in the election.

When this report was compiled, the PDP has not yet said anything about zoning their Presidential ticket as they have about two months to decide on this.
