Zamfara New Deputy Governor Nasiha resigns from Senate

Muhammad Nasiha, the senator representing Zamfara Central Senatorial District, has formally resigned from his post in the Senate.

This followed his nomination as deputy to Governor Bello Matawalle of the state of Zamfara.

Nasiha took over for Mahadi Ali, who was impeached by the Zamfara State House of Assembly last week.

Nasiha’s resignation from the Senate was announced during a plenary session by the Senate’s president, Ahmed Lawan, who read a letter addressed to the Senate.

It has been reported that Nasiha is retiring in order to become the deputy governor of his state.
