Rssian billionaire, Roman Abramovich has announced that he has decided to sell Chelsea Football Club, 19 years after its acquisition

The rich man also pledged to donate money from the sale of Chelsea to help victims of the Ukraine war.

The 55-year-old Abramovich said in a declaration that selling Chelsea was the best option for the Champions League holders.

This has to do with Russia’s occupation of Ukraine, with Abramovich seen as one of the right-hand men of Russian President Vladimir Putin

The Russian tycoon added that he would not ask the club to pay off his biliyan 1.5 billion debt ($ 2 billion).

Roman Abramovich’s future as Chelsea owner has been in jeopardy since last weekend after a wealthy Swiss man claimed he had already been offered a move to Chelsea.

Billionaire Hansjorg Wyss has told Blick that Abramovich wants to leave Chelsea immediately after threatening to impose a series of sanctions on the English parliament.

Abramovich has already handed over the reins of Chelsea to other members of the club’s board of trustees.
