The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has verified the removal of electricity subsidies by the Nigerian Government.
While addressing a news correspondents in Abuja, Mr Sanusi Garba, the Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission states the inspection was performed in line with multi-year tariff declaration that directs that electricity tariff be reviewed every six-month.
The commission authorization comes as the country continues to face an energy hardship amid fuel lines, soaring diesel prices and national grid falls.
Electricity Regulatory boss explained it is the responsibility of electricity distribution companies to notify their customers of price review outcomes and rate of power.
He condemned the unhappy state of electricity supply and grid spills on destruction of gas pipelines to fuel plants, plants expenditure and a trip on the (330KV) line from Ughelli power plant.
