ASUU Strike: Nigerian University Lecturers (ASUU) has tasked Nigerian students to conduct acceptable protests that will bring an end to the continual industrial strikes in the country university system.

The Union bemoaned its effort to ensure that Nigerian students, irrespective of where they are, get the comprehensive education as children of the wealthy people, was not being appreciated by the students who are meant to be the beneficiaries.

Academics National President, Professor Emmanuel Osodeke, expressed this on Friday (March 18, 2022) while speaking on (Classic FM) morning program monitored by news correspondent in Abuja

We have to illustrate to the students to be part of the struggle, not saying lecturers are not performing this. Any day they and the parents decide to interrogate the politicians, where are your children schooling? If they explained they are not in Nigeria, you don’t elect them

They have role to play in this struggle that we are fighting on their behalf. You don’t expect a student authority riding Prado, attending Government Office and think that government will take you serious. When we were in students union, we clothed with T-shirt and jeans and struggle but today what do you have? Sporting, driving prado jeap up and down.

This is coming few days after the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) leadership, governed by Comrade Sunday Asefon, charged Lecturers of constant hypocrisy in meeting with the Nigerian students in order to hear directly from them as their fathers on the actual areas of argument

Meanwhile, on the assertion that some varsities were withdrawing from the strike, Professor Osodeke explained if any varsities ask students to resume to campus, they were only punishing them to grieve as all the ASUU chapters were solidly behind the ongoing strike and won’t go to lectures.
