Herdsmen invade School, injure many in Delta

Gun exerting herders have raided Ohoror Secondary School in Ohoror Community of Ughelli-North LGA of Delta State, causing many with wounds and disrupting educational activities.

The herdsmen who attacked during school hours shot sporadically and instilled anxieties in the rural community, over a face-off with agriculturalist who have severally lost their farm products to cows grazing.

Despite the State Anti-open grazing regulation, provisions for ranching and many meetings between the Police officials in the state, the herders and farmers to broker peaceful coexistence, has proceeded to decline

Patrick Muoboghare, the Delta State Commissioner for Higher Education on a visit to thee affected school, denounced the herdsmen’s raid and explained the state government has taken an initial step of shutting down school, pending when a lasting solution is achieved.

Rcalled that more than ten farmers were murdered by the herders on (February 15, 2020) in a trying to protect the community women, converted to sex slaves, in the herdsmen’ custody.
