Buhari sends more Troops, Weapons to Imo

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the deployment of additional security personnel and weapons to the militant-held Imo State in the southeast.

Buhari agreed to the move after meeting with Imo State Governor Hope Hope Uzodinma at his palace in Abuja on Monday (March 21, 2022)

This comes after President Muhammadu Buhari summoned the governor to meet him over the security situation in his home state of Imo.

Some militants have taken time to launch attacks on police officers and community leaders in the state.
