Medical Association urges Yahaya Bello to Pay Doctors’ Salaries

NMA-Nigerian Medical Association has urged the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, to approve the full payment of February salaries of doctors working under the state government across the state.

The Medical Association made the speech in a statement together approved by Dr Omakoji Oyiguh, NMA chairman and Dr Chimezie Udebuani, the Secretary on Tuesday (March 22) in Lokoja, Kogi state capital.

It read, “The meeting examined that the medical doctors salary working with the Government of Kogi State was in fraction (69.97%).

”The discussion further examined that the payment in percentage was done despite lack of attention or request for negotiation to members whose wages are to be implicated.

Logi state Nigerian Medical Association in a message to state governor, Yahaya Bello, dated March 7, brought the attention of of the executive governor to non invitation to partake in any negotiation and the expectation of Medical Association for payment of full-salary for the month of February 2022,” the declaration remarked.

Doctors Association Kogi chapter begged the governor, Bello to forestall any chance of industrial action, after the leadership’s two-year of peaceful and unified relationship with the medical sector.

The governor’s handlers on the matter of the proportion salary should be warned against doing anything that will cause a decay of the much admired relationship already formulated, Doctors expanded.
