At least 18 Nigerian Super Eagles players have so far gathered at the national team training camp in Abuja for the 25-man squad to face Ghana’s Black Stars in a World Cup qualifier.

The first leg will take place on Friday, four days before the second leg of the 22nd edition of the World Cup in Qatar.

Team captain Ahmed Musa and his deputy Williams Ekong are among the first players to arrive in Abuja, along with Leon Balogun, Oluwasemilogo Ajayi and Olaoluwa Aina and Frank Onyeka.

Other players in attendance include Odion Ighalo, Daniel Akpeyi and Oghenekaro Etebo, Kelechi Iheanacho and Abdullahi Shehu and Francis Uzoho and Moses Simon.

Others include Emmanuel Dennis and Joseph Ayodele-Aribo and Calvin Bassey and Innocent Bonke and Kenneth Omeruo.

The match will be without Nigeria’s number one goalkeeper Maduke Okoye, who has been replaced by John Noble of Enyimba.

Nigeria, which has lifted the Africa Cup of Nations three times, will face four-time winners Ghana at the 40,000-capacity Baba Yara Stadium.
