Mali Army kills 203 Terrorists

The Malian army says it has killed 203 militants in airstrikes in parts of the country, a sign of increasing fighting between government forces and jihadist groups in the war-torn country.

The military says it carried out the operation between March

23 and 31 in the town of Moura in the Sahel region, which it described as a terrorist hideout.

According to a statement from the Malian army, government forces killed 203 militants, captured 51, and confiscated a large quantity of weapons.

The announcement comes after reports circulated on social media this week that a number of people, including civilians, had been killed in the Moura area.

But the French news agency says it has not yet confirmed the two reports.
