APC National Chairman, Adamu resigns as Senator

Nigeria’s new All Progressives Congress (APC) leader Abdullahi Adamu has resigned as the senator representing Nasarawa West in the 9th Senate.

Senator Abubakar Kyari, a Member of Parliament for Borno North, also announced his resignation.

The move by the two lawmakers follows their re-election to the post of chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), a post currently held by Abdullahi Adamu, with Abubakar Kyari as his deputy. APC leader for northern Nigeria.

The lawmakers announced their resignations in separate letters to the Nigerian Senate, which was read out by Senate President Ahmad Lawan on Tuesday.

Senator Adamu previously chaired the Senate Committee on Agriculture and Rural Development, while Senator Kyari chaired the Committee on the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
