Kwara Govt Gives All Parties Quality Assurance Ahead of 2023 election

On preparation for the forthcoming general elections, the Government of Kwara State has assured all state political parties of a level playing ground in operating their campaign programmes and activities.

Olabode Towoju, the Kwara state commissioner for Communications gave the confidence during a stakeholders conference with all political parties in Ilorin of the state capital.

The conference was at the model of the KWASSA-Kwara State Signage and Advertisements Agency.

Though, the Communication Commissioner compelled the parties to strictly adhere to laws governing the erection of billboards and pasting of advertisements in Kwara state.

Towoju explained that the current administration would not watch any political party, pledged to be reasonable and just to every party.

The commissioner also talked about the government’s willingness to operate with all political parties in order to move the state forward and assure the entrenchment of favorable governance.

He stated “In all our activities, we should put the interest of the state first and defy all acts that could slip Kwara into calamity. As an administration, we will not judge against any political party

Olorunshola Omotayo, the KWASSA Director-General stated the objective of the conference was to enlighten and inform political parties on the regulations governing erection of billboards and pasting of posters.

Omotayo called for the partnership of all as the election time approaches, advising politicians to act in accordance with the rules.

“We should reject the act of vandalising (destruction) one another billboards. Now is the time to get it straight, we should endeavour to act according to the regulation and avoid politics of do or die,” Director-General admonished the politicians.
