First Class Oyo Monarch, Alaafin is Dead

The long living Oba and Chairman of Oyo Oba in Council, Alaafin of Oyo, Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III has departed from this life after brief illness.

Alaafin join ancestors after 51-year on the throne of his formerunners in Ado-Ekiti popular hospital, Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital (ABUAD) around 12.30am on Saturday

Oba Adeyemi III is said to be the 8th ruler of the contemporary Oyo Empire.

Adeyemi was born 15th of October, 1938 his great grandfather and father were formerly Alaafin of Oyo Empire at various times.

Adeyemi, who became Oba in January, 1971 and had previously commemorated his 51st anniversary on the throne of Oyo.

Alaafin as third prominent king that passed away after Olubadan of Ibadan and Soun of Ogbomoso in Oyo state, Nigeria.
