Central African Republic Approves Bitcoin As Legal Tender – Presidency



The Central African Republic has approved the use of Bitcoin as a legal currency.

This announcement was made the office of President on Wednesday.

Legislators unanimously obtained a bill that made bitcoin formal tender alongside the Central African franc and authorised the use of cryptocurrencies, and President Faustin Archange Touadera approved the regulation into law, Obed Namsio, the chief of staff stated in a statement.

The Central African is the first nation in Africa to approve bitcoin as legal currency, Chief of staff noted.

He said, this decision place the country on a map of the world’s courageous and extensively resourceful

In September 7th, El Salvador became the world’s first bitcoin adopter.

Under it, the people of central American nation were permitted to use the digital coin; along with the United States dollar which has been the accepted currency to pay for any products or service, using a internet wallet application.
