Yobe Attack: Police shut-down Mammy Markets in the State

The Police command of Yobe State has ordered the closing of mammy markets in the state.

This directive came after attack on local Burukutu drinking joints in Gashua and Geidam communities.

Dungus Abdulkarim, the police spokesman in the state while responding to questions on security conditions in the state on Channels Television disclosed that other hidden drinking joints in the state would also be close till adequate security regulations are put in place.

He pleaded the dwellers of those communities and Yobe at learge to be watchful and report any uncertain activities to the police authorities, particularly during this Ramandan, Sallah celebrations and Workers’ Day.

Police Spokesman explained that the decision is temporarily and to avoid further invasion some civic areas.

Recall that some unknown gunmen attacked two local drinks joints in Yobe communities where several people were seriously injured.

According to a source, some of the victims were receiving medical treatment at the hospital.
