20 Akwa Ibom Corps Members repeat Youth service over abscondment



Not less than 20 Akwa Ibom Batch A corps members of year 2021 to repeat service this year over abscondment.

Mrs Chinyere Ekwe, the NYSC Akwa Ibom coordinator said this on Wednesday in Uyo during the passing parade of the youth service members.

She said out of 1,626 allotted to the state, twenty members would have to stay back and repeat their service, while other 30 indulged in acts of mischief varying from unauthorised journeys, absenteeism among others , would have to endure extended service from two-week to four-month

The service would persist to serve as a program for national unity and harmony.

She applauded some of the youth members for displaying very high sense of adulthood and commitment as they conducted themselves honourably and within the ambit of the law during the youth service.

Ekwe instructed youth members to use the wisdom obtained from SAED-Skill Acquisition and Enterpreneurship Development to improve themselves and become better person.

She lauded the state government for the assistance accorded the program to serve the nation better

While commenting, Governor Udom Emmanuel assured the you’re corps that the hardship experienced in the state allowance had been settled, assuring that they would henceforth collect their allowances instantly.
