Sultan announces Monday as Eid-El-Fitr



Monday (May 2nd) has been declared as 2022 Eid-El-Fitr by the Emir of Sokoto and NSCIA- Nigerian Supreme Council of Islamic Affairs president general, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar

In a statement published and made available for news correspondents on Saturday night approved by Wazirin Sokoto and chairman, Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council, Sokoto, Professor Sambo Wali Junaidu

The statement explained; “The Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs Sultanate Council In co-occurence with the National Moon Sighting Committee did not obtain any information from different moon sighting all over the nation substantiating the sighting of the new moon of Shawwal (1443AH), on 30th of April, 2022 (Saturday) which was the Ramadan 29th days of fasting 1443AH.

“Therefore, the (1443AH) 30th days of Ramadan fasting which Sunday, 1st of May 2022.”

While advising the Muslim faithful to proceed to plead for unity, progress and advancement of the country, NSCIA President felicitated with the Nigerian Muslim faithful and wished them Allah’s blessings and guidance
