Only Court can determine Nnamdi Kanu’s fate, Buhari tells Igbo Leaders

Nigerian President, General Muhammadu Buhari has affirmed that the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu must uphold himself in the court of law.

Buhari states this on Friday (May 6) at a meeting with the leaders of South-Eest in Ebonyi state on his two days working visit.

Muhammadu Buhari while acknowledging to pleas by religious, traditional and political leaders in south-east, on a release and political solution of the confined IPOB leader, Kano.

“I have listened carefully to the several appeals from the leaders and the traditional elders, considering a wide range of options, and as I have explained before, this matter stays in the wide purview of the courts, where it will be appropriately adjudicated

“My concern is for our hardworking and faithful citizens, for whom life is already hard, and would like to receive a decent and credible living “

Muhammad Buhari vowed that the Federal Government would deploy its stability, to preserve honest and hardworking Nigerian citizens, and those inflicting the decomposition of law and order, in the south-east states.

Mr President also affirmed concern, over the deteriorating security condition in the region, repeating his command to security mechanisms, to “flush out” those perpetrating chaos in the area.

The South-east Leaders who took turns to converse, including the Ebonyi state Governor, David Umahi, advised President Buhari to secure the release of Nnamdi Kanu.

They also said that the President should support Southeast Presidency in 2023
