Strike: Consider Nigerian Students, Buhari begs Lecturers to Call off Strike

The President of Nigeria, General Muhammadu Buhari (Retd) has called on varsity lecturers (ASUU) to call off the strike action.

President Buhari appealed to the Union to consider the hardship of the students and suspend the strike action.

Nigerian first citizen made this appealed at the National Productivity Day Celebration and Conferment of National Productivity Order of Merit Award, 19th of its kind held at the Confrence centre in Statehouse, Aso Rock, Abuja

He also appealed to Nigerian students to exercise tolerance as the Federal Govt tries to resolve the differences.

Recall that Buhari has authorized the Chief of Staff, Chris Ngige and Adamu Adamu to resolve diffrences with the varsity unions.

ASUU leadership added three-month to the ongoing strike on Monday.

While expecting FGN to approve their demands; funding of varsties, 2009 agreement between FGN/ASUU and new payment platform (UTAS).
