COVID-19 kills 21 People in North Korea within 24 hrs

North Korea announced the deaths of 21 people on Saturday, saying half a million people had been hospitalized across the country, two days after it confirmed the resurgence of Covid 19.

Despite imposing sanctions to prevent the spread of the disease among its unvaccinated population, North Korea receives thousands of cases every day.

On Friday alone, more than 174,440 people were infected, and 81,430 recovered, while 21 died, according to North Korea’s state news agency.

North Korea on Thursday confirmed the outbreak of Omicron, a highly contagious Covid-19 virus in the capital Pyongyang, with President Kim Jong Un ordering a curfew.
