Blasphemy: Northern governors call for peace

The Nigeria Northern govs’ forum has called for peace between Christian faithful and other citizens over the massacre of College student, Deborah Samuel for alleged abusing Allah in Sokoto State.

Dr Makut Macham, PRO to Simon Bako Lalong, Governor of Plateau State and chairman of the Northern Forum in a declaration, asserted that the governors were worried about the evolution, explaining that it is simply an extra-judicial measure of dealing with perceived transgression.

The Northern govs plea for peace following news of the hijack of a peaceful protest which later swiveled destructive and led to the imposition of a curfew in Sokoto community.”

The statement clarified that the forum emphasized that any try made to assume self-help in dealing with injustices whether religious or otherwise could lead to more violence in Nigeria.

According to the declaration, the govs begged that security agents be permitted to thoroughly investigate the case, while commiserating with the family and relative of the victim.

The govs praised Gov Sokoto Aminu Tambuwal for the proactive measures he acquired to reclaim normality in the State.

They assured Gov Tambuwal of the governors’ solidarity and devotions in handling with the case, ensuring that they would assure the adoption of essential measures to forestall replication in any part of the area and Nigeria at large.

They charged the people of the northern state and Nigerian citizens to leave in coexistence with each other respective of their religion, status and tribe.
