The Owo Church attack claimed 20 lives while several individual wounded while armed gunmen opened fire on church congregations during service on Sunday in Ondo state.
The attackers struck shortly afternoon in front of St Franciscan Church near the Olowo of Owo palace, forcing people to flee for their lives.
There was no immediate word from the state government or security forces on the cause of the accident and the number of injured, but observers said several people were killed and several others were injured.
But some media outlets states the attack was carried out by gunmen and killed at least 50 people when they opened fire on worshipers and passers-by.
The gunmen attacked during a religious service, opening fire on a family member.
