National Security Council says ISWAP Responsible for Owo Church Attack

The NSC-National Security Council has explained that ISWAP-Islamic State West Africa Province accountable for the attack of Catholic Church in Owo of Ondo State.

The Federal Minister of Interor Aregbesola stated this wile briefing the press after NSC meeting in Abuja.

He explained that police operatives have been authorized to apprehend the criminals, he said that the attack has no connection with religion or ethnic group.

The Council also condemned the slaughter in the name of blasphemy and directed the security personnels to investigate the matter that happened in Sokoto and Abuja.

Similarly, the IG of Police equally pointed out the traces of the gunmen of the Owo homicides have been known and although no arrests have been prepared, security operatives are now zeroing in on them.

The meeting, which was governed by President Buhari after twenty individuals were slaughtered in the location and many others harmed.

Ondo gov, Akeredolu recently revealed that 40 people were slain in the raid, and twenty-six (26haveas been discharged.

The total record now indicates that 127 people were affected in the raid.
