Chairman, Toto Local Government Council, Hon. Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, has urged the Security agencies in Nasarawa State to fish out perpetrators of the recent violent attack on Gwaruma village near Katakpa in Umaisha Development Area.

It was reported that an early morning attack by unknown gunmen on Monday claimed no fewer than 4 persons lives and properties worth millions naira were destroyed, while scores of houses were equally rased

Without waste of time, the Chairman of Toto Local Government Council, Honourable Aliyu Abdullahi Tashas, in collaboration with the Divisional Police Officer, mobilised, security agencies, and vigilante group to the affected area.

The Council Chairman, who was represented by his Deputy, Hon. Abubakar Haruna Kwanakis, expressed anger and disgust over the attack and directed security agents to bring perpetrator to book.

While sympathising with the people of Gwaruma village and the families of those that lost their lives during the attack, the Chairman assured the citizens of the government determination to the protection of lives and properties.

The residents of Gwaruma village Katakpa ward of Toto local government area told the Chairman and security agencies that the gun men attack commenced as early as 5am, shooting sporadically, killing and burning houses.

They disclosed further that four persons were killed, while 43 houses, 9 motor cycles and other properties worth millions of Naira were destroyed.

The Chairman therefore re assured the residents and entire citizens of the local government area of the capability and determination of the government to protect lives and properties and therefore charged the security agents to bring the perpetrators to book.

In his remarks, CSP Yusuf Alkali, the Divisional Police Officer, in charge of the local government who also condole the community over the dastardly attack, cautioned them to see security as every body’s business.

” You mobilize your youth to be vigilant, share useful information to security agents and of course to your immediate surrounding neighborhood watch, because government Security agencies cannot be everywhere”. He said.

Expressing their appreciation, the leaders of Gbagyi and Afo communities, Mr Danlami Juizhi and Mall Mohammed Hassan thanked the Council Chairman for the quick response by drafting security agents who were there as early as possible to rescue them from invaders.

The community leaders who condemned the attack, described the attackers as callous killing 7 children who knows nothing about life .

The delegation headed by Deputy Chairman has the DPO, the Hon Councilor representing Katakpa ward, Commanding officer Kenyihu Camp, VGN commander tlga and other security officers.
