Senate presidency: APC youth leaders forum declare support for Akpabio

The youth leaders forum of the 36 states and the FCT of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) have declared their support Senate Godswilll Akpabio as senate president, saying Akpabio will bring transformational change to the 10th assembly of the federal republic of Nigeria.
A communique, which was signed by the FCT APC youth leader , Hon Idris Umar Faruq, on behalf of the 36 APC youth leaders at the end of the forums meeting in Abuja, on Thursday, said the choice of the National Working Committee of the APC in zoning the senate presidency to the south -south which favors Akpabio was a good step in the right direction.
They said senator Akpabio deserve the exalted seat of the senate president due to his good track records as former governor of Akwa-Ibom state and former minister of Niger Delta.
According to the communique, senator Akpabio’s choice of as senate president of the 10th senate was not a misplaced one, judging from his pedigree and antecedent as former minister that transformed Akwa -Ibom state.
The communique said as states youth leaders of APC and members of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party in their respective states, after looking at the significance of the zoning and track records of Akpabio decided to declare their support of the decision of the party NWC.
“It is on record that the awaiting senate president of the 10th senate, Senate Godswilll Akpabio, has transformed Akwa -Ibom state and entire Niger Delta when he governor and minister. He has also transformed the youth and women across various sectors, ” the communique said.
The communique added that senator Akpabio has left a bold foot print during his reign as Niger Delta minister, through completing various abandoned projects including ultra modern NDDC secretariat in River state.
They however, said the youth leaders identified with Akpabio because of his was someone that is always passionate about issues affecting youth affairs.
“As we also know that the youth have always been part of your political agenda, hence, was also instrumental to your political success as Governor in Akwa -Ibom state, which we hope that the synergy will be mutually beneficial,” they said.
The communique added ” And it was on this premise that the APC youth leaders forum across the 36 and the FCT after extensive meeting unanimously resolved to declare their support to Senator Godswilll Akpabio and senate president of the 10th senate pf the federal republic of Nigeria,” the youth said.
The youth leaders, therefore, commended the president -elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his political dexterity and experience in creating a conducive atmosphere in ensuring harmony among the senators.
