EDHA: Onolememen congratulates Edo State Lawmakers

Dr. (Arc) Mike Onolememen, CON, a former Minister of Works, has sent his congratulatory message to the newly inaugurated Edo State House of Assembly (EDHA) members.

The former Minister specifically congratulated Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and Hon. Maria Omozele Edeko Esq. on their emergency as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House respectively.

This was contained in a statement personally signed and issued by the Adolor of Uromi Kingdom said, “I am using the medium to congratulate the 24 members of the Edo State House of Assembly on their inauguration today, especially Rt. Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and Hon. Maria Omozele Edeko Esq. on their emergency as Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the House of respectively.

“The legislative arm of government is a very important part of democracy, I urge them to make legislation effective so that their constituents will be brought close to governance. They must listen very keenly to the yearnings and aspirations of the citizens, make laws that will directly affect their everyday lives and work assiduously for the growth and development of the entire state. They should also make sure they work amicably with the executive for the purpose of sustainable development, political stability and efficient service delivery to the electorates.

“The newly inaugurated members should not take their oversight function for granted even as they work hand-in-hand with the other two arms of government. They must be independent and act the traditional role of checks and balance.”

The 2024 gubernatorial hopeful added that as they play their roles as expected, they should be rest assured that the citizens who elected them to office will support them all through their tenure.
