The Paramount traditional ruler in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, Ohimegye Opanda, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Usman Abdullahi, has described those opposed to the Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule and the Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly as enemies of the state.
The traditional ruler bared his mind on Wednesday, when he received the Speaker, Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi who paid him Eid El Kabir Sallah homage to his palace at Umaisha.
The Ohimegye Opanda who thanked the Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly for the homage, advised him to continue with the good working relationship between the executive and legislative branch of the government.
He noted with satisfaction the unprecedented acceptance of the government good will to the people of his domain, especially the rehabilitation of Toto – Umaisha road and the connection to the national grid for the electrification of the area.
The traditional ruler, who is also the President Toto Local Government Traditional Council, hailed the Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule for his quick responses to distress calls when terrorists, bandits and kidnappers wrecked havoc on Toto Local Government Area.
While warning the Internally Displaced Persons from Kogi state in the area to stay clear of politics in Nasarawa State, the Paramount traditional ruler threatened to return them to their abodes if they don’t desist from venturing into local political activities.
The Ohimegye Opanda used the Sallah festival to appeal to the people of the state to return to the farms to mitigate against the impending sufferings in view of the cost of living occasioned by the crisis plaguing the nation’s petroleum industry.
Earlier, the Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly Rt Honourable Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, commended the Ohimegye for his leadership role that has brought about sustainable peace and tranquility in Toto Local Government Area.
The Speaker pleaded with the Monarch to continue with his God given qualities of maintaining and sustaining peace through out and across the entire local government area, urging him not to be deterred by the antics of the indisciplined that have been causing confusion all the while.
Balarabe described the Nasarawa State Governor as the friend of the people of Toto Local Government Area, as he is very much concerned about happenings in the area and with promptness attends to them.
He however warned trouble makers to desist forthwith as nobody would be spared no matter how highly placed or connected if found wanting, and therefore appealed to the people to embrace peace for the enabling progress.
On the Assembly crisis, the Speaker disclosed that it was fomented by the gladiators of 2027 Governorship dreamers.
“As far as I am concerned I have never informed or discussed with any person of my ambition as regards governorship election”. the Speaker stated.
