Abia Govt commended for Waste evacuation

A labour party stalwart, Mazi Emma Uche, has stated that the emergence of Dr Alex Otti as the Governor of Abia state, has rekindled the people’s confidence in governance in the state.
He spoke during an interview with newsmen on Wednesday in Umuahia, the state capital, noted that the governor had begun to hit the ground running, citing the recent flagged off for construction of 19 roads in Abia state and refuse disposal and evacuation to dump sites, civil service reform, and many others too numerous to mention.
Uche specifically applauded Otti for his prompt response to the ongoing clearing and evacuation of wastes within Umuahia and Aba cities so as to engender clean, healthy and safe environment in every parts of the state.
The party stalwart also lambasted the past successive government controlled by the Peoples Democratic Party in Abia state for allegedly failing to justify the mandate entrusted to them by the people of the state in the last 25 years it presided the affairs of the state.
He berated the former ruling party in Abia state the alleged negligence and insensitivity of the past government to evacuate heaps of refuse scattering every parts of the state.
The party stakeholder regretted that refuse dumps ln the state has continued to pose serious health hazards to inhabitants of the affected areas in Abia state as many had contacted infectious diseases and fell sick necessitate by decomposing wastes dumped along the roadside.
Uche described the PDP reigns in Abia state as total catastrophic and hellish, regretted he was unfair to people of the state as it bequeathed to Abia people dirty environment, infrastructural decadence, economic downturn and insecurity.
His words: “Most wastes at dump sites which had decomposed for many past years because of government’s insensitivity to adequately fund the Abia State Environmental Protection Agency (ASEPA) and also provide necessary logistics and refuse disposal trucks or operational vehicles” .
While speaking further, Mr Uche, a close ally of the State Governor, Alex Otti, confided the governor will live up to the expectations of the masses in providing basic dividends of democracy to the doorsteps of Abia populaces in Abia, having demonstrated capacity, competence, ability and expertises both in private and public sector-driven administrations which in turn, led to his elevation as the Group Managing Director of the defunct Diamond Bank Plc.
He urged the people of the state and residents to give their full support and cooperation to Dr Alex Otti’s administration to enable him achieve healthier environment for all Abia people.
