Comrade Makusidi re -elected as AMAC NUT branch chairman

Comrade Umar Mohammed Makusidi have been re – elected as chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) branch of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in the area.

Comrade Makusidi, scored 136 votes to defeat his opponent, Comrade Yakubu Lucky, who got 42 votes during the NUT delegates election which held amid tight security at the Local Education Authority (LEA) primary school, Jabi, Abuja last Thursday.

Among other elected AMAC NUT branch executives were, Comrade Goje Sabo Gupada, Treasurer, Dennis Dauda, 1st vice chairman, Ofei John Onimisi, 3rd vice chairman, Eneja Evelyn, 2nd vice chairman, Ekwere Charles, deputy chairman, Adekunle Funmilayo, Assistant secretary and Agaze Reuben, social secretary, Percy R. Ndam, secretary.

Other elected branch executives included, Comrade Arinze Alfred Atuora, financial secretary, Reuben Agasa, social secretary, Geoffrey Attampa, publicity secretary, Percy R. Ndam, secretary, Shuaibu Mohammed, examiner of Account 1and Aman Emma Ogar, examiner of Account 2.

In his acceptance speech, the re -elected NUT AMAC branch chairman, Comrade Makusidi, expressed appreciated members of the union delegates for finding worthy and confidence they have in re – electing him and other executives to pilot affairs of the union again for another second term.

He said both those who won and lost out were all winners, saying he and other executives will ensure a synergy and collectively together for unity, peace, progress and development of the union.

According to him, leadership is a big task and service delivery to every members of the union, assuring that NUT under his leadership in AMAC will continue to operate an open door policy for the betterment of its members across board.

Our correspondent report that an oath of office were admitted on all the elected branch executives.
