Pastor Adeboye calls for fervent prayer to end insecurity in Nigeria

The General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor E.A. Adeboye has urged Nigerians to put their faith in God as they only way to end pains arising from myriad of challenges.
Global Times Nigeria reports the General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) stated this during 2023 convention held at Redemption City of God, Mowe area of Ogun State, beginning from August 7th to 13th 2023.
The theme of the convention was “The Great Shepherd” and featured various events and activities for the spiritual edification of the participants.
Speaking to congregation on Friday night, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, urged Nigerians on the need to maintain peace, unity for overall interest of the country.

The clergyman while speaking on a personal experience on war, he said as someone who witnessed war asked Nigerians to pray against it even as he said its devastating effects will consume Nigeria.
“I am not a soldier, but had been to the battlefield and knew how terrible war was.
“What Nigerians are facing now is enough to submit to God for solution, we have herders/farmer crisis, banditry, kidnapping and hunger to tackle.
According to Adeboye these above mentioned challenges is the biggest war Nigeria and Nigerians must tackle, saying it could advance into more wars if not properly settled.
Pastor Adeboye said Nigerians should pray fervently for peace and avoid anything that could trigger violence.
He said: “Nigeria still needs a lot of prayers… If anybody asks me to choose between war and peace, I will choose peace.”
He added: “Surely we do not want more wars, we want to win the ones we are fighting, and we do not want fresh ones. So those of you who believe in peace in every section… Stand and cry to God.”
Pastor Adeboye also prayed for the nation and its leaders. He asked God to grant them wisdom, courage and grace to lead Nigeria to prosperity and stability. He also prayed for the protection and provision of God for all Nigerians.
The convention ended on Saturday with a thanksgiving service and a special anointing service. Pastor Adeboye blessed the congregation and declared that they would experience the goodness of God as they go back to their various destinations. He also announced that the next convention would hold in August 2024 with the theme “The Great Provider”.
