Tribunal: Atiku, Obi petitions against Tinubu terribly hopeless — APC Nat’l Sec. Basiru

Global Times Nigeria reports that the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Ajibola Basiru, has called on opposition leaders to joined present administration led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to deliver leadership to Nigerians.

The APC chieftain maintained that petitions challenging President Bola Tinubu in this year’s presidential election are “terribly hopeless”, considering the fact that election was conducted in an atmosphere of free, fair and credible.

Global Times Nigeria revealed that Presidential candidates of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi and that of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhajib Atiku Abubakar, are currently challenging the emergence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the February 25, 2023 presidential election.

Speaking on Channels TV on Sunday, August 13, Basiru, dismissed the petitions. When asked to respond to speculation that the APC is gearing up for a rerun election, Basiru began by saying he was not supposed to make comments on a matter that is subjudice.

It could be recalled that the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje OFR and National Secretary Senator Ajibola Basiru assumed duty following the exit of former leaders.
