APC Group rejects NDDC nominees from Delta

….Appeals to senate not to screen, confirm them.

….Says Nomination of Chiedu Ebie and Monday Igbuya is a an embarrassment to Delta APC.

The coalition of All Progressives Congress, APC, Support Group in Delta State has rejected the nomination of Mr Chiedu Ebie Esq as Chairman designate of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), and Delta State Representative nominee, Rt Hon Monday Igbuya.

The group, who made this known at a press conference on Saturday in Asaba, Delta State Capital described the appointment as a huge threat to members of All Progressives Congress, APC, considering their past electioneering activities where they launched an attack against the party in the State.

Coordinating Secretary, Ms Oghale Kpobrise, Woman Mobilizer, Comrade Joshua Onoriode (Youth Mobilizer) of the group in a statement called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to appoint another competent and qualified people from Delta State that help him achieve his administration cardinal principles.

The group further stated that it would moblise its members across the State to protest should the President fail to act.

While appealing to the President to heed to popular call, the group also call on the National Assembly not to screen and confirm the nominees in order to save the board from destruction and causing damage to the new administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

According to the group, should the Federal Government failed to do the needful, they would have no other option than to mobilize thousand of its members to the national Assembly against slated screening.

“Nomination of Mr Chiedu Ebie Esq as Chairman designate of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Delta State Representative nominee, Rt Hon Monday Igbuya, remains a huge embarrassment to members of the party in the state.”

“We shall not allowed PDP elements to harvest our labour, We are not aware of any APC members been given appointment by the temporary/ caretaker government at the state”.

The group maintained that the nomination of Chiedu Ebie is an insult to oil producing areas of the state.

Investigation revealed that the immediate past chairman of the board hails from the same area of the Chiedu Ebie and doesn’t have a drop of oil from his domain, wonder why such person will be rewarded for what he knows nothing about.

Chiedu Ebie, who formerly served as secretary to the state government of Delta State under the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, used his influence of the office to harassed and intimidated All Progressives Congress, APC, members and sent them to their early graves.

“Such element cannot be compensated in APC led government. ”

“We call on all well meaning APC members in the state, particularly foundation members of the party to get ready to shutdown the national assembly if the nomination is not withdraw before the screening day by the national assembly.”

The group also urged the former Governor of Delta State, Chief James Ibori to work closely with known APC members and build the party in the state if he means well for the party.

According to them, Ibori had influenced the appointment of his brother in-law, Chiedu Ebie as Chairman of the board, his interest in the party is selfish, Self centered and self-motivated and this will only lead to destruction of the party.

“There are more competent and qualified APC members who worked for Mr President that can fit into those positions, this is not how to reward party members by appointing scavengers from another party.”

The Delta APC Coalition however pleaded with President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu to be very careful while dealing with a character like Chief James Ibori, noted that President Tinubu has successfully laid the template of development of Lagos state.

The group added that Chief Ibori only laid the template of looting and underdevelopment in Delta State when he served as Governor for 8 years.

“The mission of this PDP elements are to empower PDP people who they have known and have as friends over the years.”

Chiedu Ebie’s is a security threat to APC members in the state. His clandestine squad will be so empowered that APC members can not breath in the state any longer. The group Said.
