100 days in Office: Ohanaeze hails southeast governors on uncommon leadership display

The highest socio-cultural organization in igboland, Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide, on Thursday, applauded the newly elected governors of the southeast zone who were sworn into office in various states in May this year.

This came on the backdrops of on-the-spot-assessment and project evaluation
initiated by southeast governors in respective states in the last one hundred days on assumption of office and carried out by carried out by the apex-igbo body and pro-democracy and rights advocacy groups in the country.

Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, the Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, noted with satisfaction that the governors have hit the ground running in their various states

The group particularly, lauded the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon Francis Nwifuru for demonstrating committment to good governance, inclusiveness of stakeholders in steering the affairs of the state.

According to ohanaeze, the governor had equally displayed effective and efficient leadership by facilitating and providing jobs opportunities for the youths across all the local government areas in Ebonyi, describing Nwifuru as the ’emerging pro-democracy Governor of note’, who had so far exhibited needed capacity and competence in governance of the state.

According to the pan-igbo ethnic nationality group, “Governor Nwifuru hit the ground running in building of critical infrastructures, which is tilted at consolidating the lofty accomplishment of his predecessor, Senator Dave Nweze Umahi”.

Continuing, the highest socio-cultural umbrella body in igboland, reiterated “Nwifuru’s records in his first 100 days in office show that he is leading other newly elected southeast governors in delivering good governance.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo, however, noted that other Newly elected Governors were engaged in endless battles of probes of their predecessors and tribunals against their Guber electoral victories which have thrown off governance in their various States”.

Ohanaeze admonished other governors from the southeast to emulate Nwifuru and focus on delivering good governance to every doorsteps of Ebonyians.

“And we call on people of southeast zone to support their governors in thier collective efforts to develop the region”, the group concluded.
