FCT UBEB director pays unscheduled visit to Abuja school

The director of the Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB) in the Federal Capital Territory ( FCT) Dr Hassan Sule, on Tuesday, paid an unscheduled visit to Local Education Authority (LEA) primary school, Apo resettlement, Abuja.

Dr Hassan, who was accompanied by some senior staff of the board was received by the head teacher of the school, in which he proceeded to walked round the school premises.

The director, who also interacted with the pupils of the school, urged them to be committed to their education so that they become good ambassadors and future leaders of tomorrow.

He noted that education is the only key to the development of any society, hence, every child must be encouraged to aquire knowledge that will be beneficial to them.

He, however, said that the board has not relent in its efforts towards ensuring that every child has access to quality education across the FCT, saying the board has ensure that adequate facilities and instructional materials are provided to all public schools in the territory.

According to him, in an effort to encourage the girl- child education in the FCT, the board under his leadership has always initiated activities such as quiz/debate competition at both primary and secondary schools level.

” And by doing so, we ensure that parents across the FCT encourage their wards to aquire education including that of the girl-child across the six area councils of the territory,” he said.

The director, while commending the head teacher and teachers of the school for their punctuality and dedication to work, noted that he was impressed with the way the school environment has remain tidy.
