Nasarawa community honour Omadefu with traditional tittle of Iyan Agaza
The member representing Keana constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Hon. Muhammad Adamu Omadefu has been crowned with the traditional title of Iyan Ka Agaza by His Royal Highness the Osuko Ka Agaza, Malam Mohammad Adeka.
The lawmaker was given the title for his great contributions to peace, unity and development of the locality.
The occasion took place at the palace of the traditional ruler in Agaza today Friday.
Prominent among those crowned together with the Honourable Member includes, the former Chairman of Keana Local Government Area, Muhammad Ayitogo as Osote Ka Agaza, All Progressive Congress (APC) Chairman, Agaza Ward, Steven Ogbole Adeka as Oseze Egwa Ka Agaza, Idris Oshafu as Osefu Ka Agaza.
Also crowned were the Councilor representing Agaza Ward, Hon. Markus Oshi Odama JP as Mabudi Agaza, Kabir Atayi as Gyaran Gari Agaza and Yahaya Opara as Madauci Agaza.
The Royal Father said, his consideration to honour the Honourable Member along side others was based on their individual contributions to peace, unity and development of his people and the land of Agaza.
Osuko specifically pointed out some of the laudable achievements recorded in the area by Hon. Omadefu within the period he served as House of Assembly member representing Keana constituency.
According to the Royal Father, the contributions of the Hon. member cut across all works of life which includes sinking of boreholes, renovation and construction of classrooms, employment opportunities to the children of the area, scholarship and health facilities.
He urged them to do more for the benefit of the people and the development of the area.
He called on the people to exercise their franchise in Saturday House of Assembly bye election wisely, peacefully and in accordance with the law and provision of electoral act.
In his vote of thanks, Hon. Omadefu appreciated God and thanks the Osuko for considering him worthy to be elevated from the traditional title of Dan Iya Ka Agaza to Iyan Ka Agaza and promised to give his best in the services of his people.
Hon. Omadefu thanked his constituents for supporting the policies and programs of Governor Abdullahi Sule and enjoined them to redouble their love and support for the administration.
He promised to remain committed to ensuring that his people continue to enjoy the dividend of democracy from the state and beyond.
He used the occasion to express optimism with the preparations of INEC to conduct free, fair, credible and transparent Saturday bye election in his constituency which he happened to be a candidate of APC in the exercise.
He called on the people to come out massively and vote for him and expressed hope that he will win the election in a landslide victory by the grace of God.
Others who spoke at the event expressed their gratitude to God and thanked Osuko for the honour promising not to disappoint him and the palace by being a loyal, obedient and progressive servants of their people and the community.
Highlights at the occasion was the horse riding by Hon. Omadefu and other awardees from the palace to the house of Moyi Babba Ka Agaza where they paid homage to the most senior tittle holder in the palace.
The horse ride continued to angwan Leye, angwan Wuje to pay respect to the ancestors as tradition demanded.
It was a beautiful occasion that symbolizes Hon. Muhammad Omadefu honour and crown as Iyan Ka Agaza.
