Abia residents cries out over erosion-ravaged roads in Ovom, Eziama areas

The residents of Ovom street and Eziama communities in Aba area of Abia state have cried out on the devastating rampage of erosion and deplorable roads in their areas.

They lamented that the menace has posed serious threat on their lives and properties, pointing that the ravaging disaster had destroyed many buildings and vital economic valuables in the area.

The Aba residents who made their feelings when the member representing Aba north and Aba south federal constituency in the house of representatives, Hon Alex Ikwechegh visited the areas to inspect the erosion-ravaged roads.

They appealed to the federal lawmaker him to use his good office to salvage them from the disaster that has crippled their livelihoods.

Meanwhile, speaking during the inspection tour to the erosion-ravaged communities on Saturday in Abs, Ikwechegh frowned at the ugly condition of the road infrastructure and assured the residents that he would take up the issue on ground to the national assembly so as tackle the erosion menaces and save lives and properties of the people in the area.

 

The lawmaker promised to commence immediate palliative work on the road in order to halt further deterioration

“I want to assure you that what i saw with eyes today on the gully erosion will be presented on floor of the house so as to draw the federal government’s attention on this menace which has become a big threats to the lives of my people”, he partly stated.
