NDE will continue its empowerment programme in Kogi — Media unit

The Head of Information and Public Relation Unit of the Kogi State Office of the National Directorate of Employment, Mr Abdulmalik Tijani Ibrahim says the Directorate will continue its empowerment programmes this year to reduce the numbers of dependence and unemployed youths.

Mr Ibrahim stated this in an interview with newsmen in Lokoja.

He said the Directorate had been able to achieve a remarkable success last year cutting across the four core Program and Service Department.

According to him, loans were disbursed for community based Agricultural Empowerment Scheme, Agricultural Extension Scheme, Agricultural Enhancement Training Scheme.

He also explained that the Directorate also assist in the area of Small Scale Enterprises with soft loans and necessary imputes to assist those who are trained to function well in the society.

The spokesperson for the Directorate urged those who had been undergone training to put to use the knowledge acquired particularly the graduate scheme intended to make graduate employable in their prospective careers.

He assured that the Directorate will remain resolute in its fight against unemployment in the country.

Ibrahim also appealed to the state government to continue to renew it’s partnership with the Directorate to get the vast majority out of the woods saying public, private, partnership approach remain the best means of eradicating unemployment in the society.
