He called on the state government to set up military base in Katakpa community to forestall re-occurrence in the area.

” Mr Speaker what happened on Katakpa has stand over in and out almost two months now.

” I remember that His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Engr. Abdullahi Sule in his wisdom immediately summoned a meeting of traditional rulers of the area led by the Ohimege of Opanda, two members of the House of Assembly from Toto LG and the former Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi and decisions were reached between Bassa community, Egbira community and Gbagi community.

” To the extend that His Excellency, insisted that Bassa community should make a press conference asking their boys in the forest to vacate the area and give a peace a chance.

” And in that meeting it was agreed that every Bassa man, he or she should return to his immediate community and machinery were set up in place.

” It will surprise you to know that 48 hours after the meeting, they storm Katakpa and shot a soldier man, we are battling with that, the soldiers who tried to go out to find out where these people are, they were ambushed and three soldiers were Killed

” And there after they attack again yesterday morning, killing the Village Head and many other innocent people, Mr Speaker it may interest you to know that after the attack while we are struggling to take care of the bodies and the people in the hospital, late in the afternoon, they came back and went to a community and destroyed all the buildings in that community

” I stand to add to what my brother, Hon. Member from Umaisha said that they are hoodlums, they are not hoodlums, they are Bassa Militia group, let’s call a spade a spade, they are Bassa militias, let us not deceived our selves, but we are appealing to our people to remain law abiding, so that peace can reign in that area.

” On that note we want the government to immediately set up military base in Katakpa because the military base is Ugya is far from Katakpa, so if something is happing in Katakpa before they move to support the area the damage will have been done”
