Housing: Kogi partners Nig Institute of Building for Standards


Kogi State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Hon. Abanika Taiye has assured the state chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Building of the government’s support and partnership.

Hon. Taiye gave the assurance in Lokoja on Monday when he received the state executives of the Institute, who paid a courtesy visit to solicit government’s support and partnership as well as to intimate him of their 2024 Builders week.

The Commissioner stressed that the present administration under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, has a total passion for quality service delivery in all sectors adding that his Ministry would work with the Builders for the progress and growth of the state especially in infrastructural technology.


The Commissioner, who commended the group for their unity of purpose aimed at ensure high standard of building infrastructure in the state, cautioned them them against involving in criminal execution of substandard structures and other facilities in the State .

Speaking, the state chairperson of the Nigerian Institute of Building, Builder Modupe Obafemi said the aim of their visit was to inform the State Government of their 2024 Week and the need for partnership and support.

Builder Modupe who unveiled the theme of this year’s Builders Week as “The Role of the Builders in Sustainable Housing Delivery” also commended Hon. Abanika for the warm reception.

She further called on the present administration under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to carry them along in the scheme of things for the growth and development of the state.


As part of the activities for 2024 Builders Day, the association visited Federal University Lokoja to see the level of their project so far and other project sites in the state.
