Idris Ojoko Foundation (IOF) Unveils Publication on Skills Acquisition Programmes, Targets 50,000 Job Opportunities
In an effort to combat unemployment and foster self-employment, the Idris Ojoko Foundation (IOF) is set to launch its Non-Profit Organization as announced by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Idris Ojoko, adding that the foundation aims to implement organized skills acquisition programs that promote economic empowerment for unemployed individuals in Nasarawa State and beyond.
The initiative is designed to create an enabling environment for self-employment through innovative training programs.
The Idris Ojoko Foundation (IOF) efforts and strategies aimed to reduce unemployment in Nigeria, where skill acquisition has been identified as a crucial factor in addressing the high levels of joblessness and poverty.
The foundation’s launch is expected to provide vital resources and support for individuals seeking to develop marketable skills and entrepreneurial capabilities.
The unveiling event is scheduled for February 27, 2025, and will also feature the launch of a book titled “Skills Acquisition and Employability,” further emphasizing the importance of skill development in achieving economic independence.
Ojoko disclosed that the Foundation seeks to train and empower no fewer than 50,000 unemployed and underemployed individuals annually, both within and outside the state.
The inaugural event of the Foundation, featuring an unveiling and book launch, will take place in Akwanga Local Government Area of Nasarawa state, with Sen. Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo as Chairman, Barr. Mohammed Hassan Abdullahi as Special Guest of Honor, and Dr. Aliyu Bello as Chief Launcher.
While Prof. Usman Mandula has been appointed as the book reviewer, and the Vice Chancellors of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, and Federal University of Lafia will serve as Guest Speakers.
Furthermore, Barr. John Mathew will deliver the keynote address, and prominent figures from various industries, business, politics, and government are expected to attend.
A statement issued by the Secretary of the Organizing Committee, Mr. Mamman Sunday, and made available to the press in Akwanga, Nasarawa state, revealed that the event will be graced by Development Partners and other well-wishers.


The humanitarian gesture, as stated by the Organizing Committee, aims to provide direct and indirect employment opportunities through organized innovative skills acquisition training and empowerment programmes to the most vulnerable and unemployed or underemployed persons in the society, thereby promoting economic growth and development to the nation.
The establishment of the Idris Ojoko Foundation serves as a testament to the founders’ dedication to community support and positively impacting lives.
