Israel demands apology from Russia for Hitler’s links to the Jews

Israel has demanded an apology from Russia following remarks by Russia’s foreign minister that linked World War II perpetrator Adolph Hitler to the Jewish state.

In an interview with Italian television on Sunday, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said he was convinced that Adolph Hitler was of Jewish descent.

Lavrov’s comments came after he was asked how Russia could say it was clearing Nazi ideology of Ukrainians, when President Volodymyr Zelensky was a Jew.

Lavrov said for a long time they felt that no one had committed genocide against the Jews like the Jews themselves.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett has dismissed the allegations, saying the genocide must no longer be used as a political weapon.
