Maikaya Foundation Spends Millions on Nasarawa Students
In a bid to mitigate the suffering and pains resulting from the removal of fuel subsidy, the Maikaya Development Foundation has spent over ten million naira to support 525 indigenous students in Nasarawa State, with each student receiving twenty thousand naira, while some got 150,000, 100,000, and 50,000 to support their studies in various tertiary institutions across Nigeria.

This initiative is part of the Maikaya Education Support Fund, a yearly program aimed at supporting Nasarawa State indigenes with scholarships, school fees, materials, and more.
The foundation’s commitment to education has positively impacted many students’ academic pursuits.
Investigations have confirmed that the Maikaya Development Foundation awarded twenty thousand naira each to 525 students. This initiative is part of the foundation’s commitment to supporting indigenous Nasarawa State students pursuing tertiary education in Nigeria.
The Maikaya Education Support Fund provides financial assistance annually, focusing on scholarships, school fees, materials, and other educational needs for students and schools in Nasarawa State.
Apart from the initial 20,000 naira disbursement by Maikaya Development Foundation, particular students received augmented allocations of 150,000, 50,000, 40,000, and 30,000 naira, in view of their academic pursuit.
Each year, the foundation presents scholarships, stimulates employment through farming, and delivers additional support. It actively champions the causes of youth and women, providing access to clean water and other crucial necessities throughout the State’s three Senatorial districts.
The Intelligence News recalled that the Maikaya Development Foundation have significantly advanced healthcare in Nasarawa State by enrolling 750 vulnerable individuals into the state’s health insurance scheme.
The initiative aims to ensure accessible healthcare for those who cannot afford it, enhancing their quality of life and contributing to universal health coverage goals. The foundation’s efforts have been widely praised by both government officials including Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo and beneficiaries, highlighting its commitment to improving social welfare across the state.
Dr. Musa Muhammed Maikaya, Chief Executive Officer of the Maikaya Development Foundation, disclosed in a telephone conversation with our correspondent on Friday that the educational support program was in fulfillment of the pledge made by the foundation during the inauguration of a motorized borehole in Toto local government area, even though it’s an annual event and the foundation sustained it.
Maikaya, a prominent Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and former governorship aspirant, emphasized that the foundation will persevere until it achieves its core goals, namely providing for the people, generating more opportunities, and augmenting government efforts.
He advised students, especially those who have received his Foundation Educational Support, to capitalize on this opportunity by devoting themselves to their studies, thus enhancing their position in society.
Our correspondent who monitor the exercise reports that many students who have benefited from the Maikaya Development Foundation’s support have flooded social media with expressions of gratitude to the CEO Maikaya Foundation for his consistent and unshakeable commitment to their educational endeavors.
According to reports, the disbursement is still ongoing and for those who applied and yet to get their own, they should exercise patience as the banks are working assiduously to ensure delivery in line with the foundation’s core objectives.
