Reasons Why Egbon Tinubu Can Never Rule Nigeria – Pete Edochie

Pete Edochie, a veteran of Nigerian cinema, has declared that presidential contenders such as Bola Ahmed Tinubu would be unable to become president of the country because they are too elderly.

During an interview with BBC Igbo, Edochie gave his opinion on the subject. He said that it is past time for the previous governor to step down since he has been in power for a long period of time.

He also decried the marginalization of the Igbos and their failure to produce a president since the nation gained its independence from the British Empire in 1957.

He went on to say that Tinubu must step down in order for youngsters who are stronger and healthier to take over and carry the nation ahead in the future.

According to him:

Many people like Tinubu are too old and too weak to run for the presidency. He has been in power for a long time until he was made the leader of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

“But he should leave the position for those who are younger and healthier. Let’s be honest.

“Igbo, Hausa, and Yoruba are the major ethnic groups in the country. Only once in the history of Nigeria has an Igbo person become the head of state in Nigeria.

“Why has power not returned to the Southeast people? Is there a plot by the political elites to sideline the South-East? I’ve lived in the North. I speak Hausa. But it’s long overdue for Nigeria to have a leader of Igbo extraction”.
