Zamfara Police arrest 10 Suspected Terrorists, Rescue 39 Kidnapped Victims

Zamfara State police force operatives have rescued 39-Abducted people who were kidnaped in ending of March and early April from several villages of Bungudu and Maru LG Areas of the state.

They also apprehended ten suspects for various offences, and regained locally fabricated firearms, as well as a snatched Honda vehicle 2012-model, among others, in Zamfara state.

The 39 abducted victims rescued by the police Command in Zamfara State included 8 males, 15 females, nursing mothers and 16 children.

The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, CP Ayuba Elkana, clarified that the 39 kidnapped persons were rescued, as a result of the continuous Police and Military troops Joint Clearance Operation at Dabar Magaji Camp, encountered in Kadanya Forest, between Maradun and Kaura Namoda LG Areas of Zamfara state

CP explained the Police arrested ten suspected terrorists, including three kidnappers, in relation with the kidnapping of two persons, at the Fakon-Idi Area, in Talata-Marafa LG Area in the State.

The three suspects are Ibrahim Lawali, Babangida Yusuf and Abdulsalam Abubakar

Commissioner also announced that 4 out of the 10 suspected terrorists were members of the vigilante operatives, who are intimidating faithful marketers at Dogon-Kade Market, in Kaura-Namoda LG Area of Zamfara state.

The Police Boss explained they would charge the suspects to court of law after questionings are finalized.
